Africa. It delves into the traditional land tenure system in the
country and discusses the factors responsible for land degradation
and loss of forest cover. Issues related to water pollution, solid
waste disposal, sanitation and health are also discussed. The paper
also analyzes weaknesses affecting environmental management in the
country and recommends a way forward.
